"red plug" lag while scrolling map

When I'm commanding and hopping quickly all over the map, there's a huge delay in drawing buildings/units. I'm trying to quickly zip back to a hive to select an upgrade, for example, and when I get there I have to wait a solid 2-3 seconds for the hive to show up before I can even select it.
