Mostly Black Screen

Been trying to play but when connected get a mostly black screen when connected to an actual game. This alternates with sometimes seeing most of the textures, but missing floors/walls/etc.
Tried the standard troubleshooting steps described but haven't had any success.
Keep getting error message written to console for
Error: IDirect3DDevice9::CreateTexture(1280x1024, 1, D3DFMT_A2R10G10B10) failed (Invalid Call)
Error: Couldn't create render targer 1280x1024
Let me know what other troubleshooting you'd like.
