Multicore Rendering

<div class="IPBDescription">Broken</div>Hey guys.

Somehow after build 226 multicore rendering doesnt work anymore like it used to.
It now actualy runs better without it. If I turn it on, it gives me mouselag, and my CPU is waiting for my GPU up to 8ms instead of 0ms.

I hear more people noticed this.. what happened since 226 with multicore rendering?

Multicore is CPU core right? So turning it on and having to wait for your GPU means your CPU got more efficient. What happens to your fps? I have multicore on and it takes me from ~30->40 fps idling.

    Do you have vsync enabled?

Vsync disabled ( I always turn it off in games, because it causes mouselag. I dont realy mind the screen tearing )

My fps counter doesnt seem to change much with Multicore Rendering on/off. But when it is ON the fps I notice is not the fps r_stats is showing me. 60 fps feels more like 30 fps then..

And again; this was not the case at 226 and the builds before. There it gave me a very good performance boost to turn Multicore Rendering ON..

    Very strange!

Finally! Someone else with this problem! (Sorry, I just thought I was the only one :)

I started <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=123029" target="_blank">a thread in the Technical Support Forum</a> on this subject.

I have found v-sync and multicore used together produces the problem. Disabling either one fixes it.

When you have Multicore set to OFF, are all of your cores still being used? Mine are.

Just as a test, enable v-sync -- does it fix it?

It seems we have similar problems, but not the same -- when I disable v-sync, multicore doesn't produce the stuttering while enabled.
