Black Screen Build 227 + Connection Timeout

Hi there, I'm having connection Timeout for about 80% of the times I try to connect to a server, if I do not get that I go to a blackscreen with the writting "Build 227" on the top left corner. After getting "Timeouted" I have to exit the game and start it over to see servers on the games list, if not I get no game on the server list.

I have already created succesfully a map and could wonder around any maps at first attempt, with no problem at all (the only problem being completely alone :P). When I'm on the Ready Room I noticed that there is this "Build 227" on the top left corner too. So I supose that this Black Screen is somehow a problem that happens in the momment when you get in that room, or the room try to load.

Also, I've tried to use the fix on "BLACK SCREEN/JOIN CRASH FIX" too:

I've tried to reinstall the game completly, I've tried to use the command "retry" in all possible ways...
Also tried to open ports like "Trouble Shooting" post:

I'm not sure if I've done that correctly, 'cause I have a router/modem that is weird to port forward... Tho I've never had any problems that needed me to open ports. I have an internet connection of 50 MB Down and 30 MB Up, so no problem there, probably. I'm a Steam user, from Brazil.

Oh, there is another important information: I could get into the Ready Room in one of the servers, and see another guy there too, walking and stuff. Then when I tried to get in Random I got a red chain in the screen (probably saying that I lost connection, or something like that...). Never could get that again. Tried about 30 times, I would say.

I recommend uninstalling all content through steam and re downloading, as its pointing to an options file that doesnt exist so something went wrong on install.

Yup, I've tried doing this too, deleted all the game through Steam and manually on appdata/roaming. Installed again and got all this errors.... or are you saying that I should do that once more? :P

Hmm...
My friend had this same error last night and solved it by deleting the entire NS2 folder in Appdata and then verifying integrity of cache..
BUT this is now no longer recommended necessarily .. and it sounds like you already did it.

Oh, I just remembered that once I've to change my Download Region on Steam to make the game work properly, tho I could not play at all the game when I had to do that. I'll try to change from Brazil (where I live) to US - Los Angeles. It will take a while because the download speed is really slower now, probably because I changed the region. When I check that I'll post here if that fixed the game..

Second Attempt, after deleting Shaders Folder, NS2 appdata/roaming folder, the folders where the errors occoured in the previous log and then verifying game cache.
I got Timeout.

I'm having this problem too I can not join in any game and always receive "Timeout" after a black screen with "Build 227" in the left upper corner.

I'm getting a timeout 100% of the time, so I'd say you're lucky it's only 80% for you.

The first time I started the game after I boguht it today I actually got into a game.... with severe rubberbanding which made the game unplayable.

Hey there guys, I found out what is my problem, tho I can't really fix it by myself. I have a Modem/Router here from my internet company, and this company is rather new. It seems I am having issues with the ports of the game... tho, it's only ports from THIS game, and I have tons of games here, and they all work just fine in online playing. Well, the problem is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to access my router/modem through cmd - telnet. My internet company doesn't have the username/password for it and it's forbidden to mess with it's cmd properties. So I asked them to check the ports from 27000 - 27100 TCP/UDP + 1200 UDP, and they will take about 1 week to check it.

That is probably my issue because I used my 3G connection from my mobile and I can play just fine using it, tho the lag is amazing... quite impossible to play using 3G.

I am also having similar issues. However on my 1st connection attempt to any server, i will get Build 229 blackscreen.
I tend to disconnect for multiple times on other connections attempts. Anyone found a fix? I am unable to Telnet my router " could not open connection to the host, on port23"
