In ready room, I run ~90 fps. If stuff gets intense however, my fps drop to 20-30, even on the lowest settings. Infestation seems to be a major issue for my system, as heavily infested rooms seem to run at ~40 fps on average, even without any action.
I've read in some other thread that the game is quite CPU demanding (which would surprise me, as I would expect my GPU to be the bottleneck at 1920*1080?). I've tried lowering to 1600*900, but didn't do much.
Here my specs, just for reference:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE @3,6ghz ATI Radeon 6870 HD 1GB 4 GB RAM

Hey! Someone with my same CPU. Yeah, unfortunately your just not going to be competitive at the moment with that CPU. I've tried just about everything to get my performance up and even though my frame rate remains high. I get that slide show feeling during combat. What you have to realize is that the top CPU's perform at nearly quadruple your chip. This game is incredibly CPU intensive and if your looking to play competitively, at least at the time being, your going to have to upgrade. Which unfortunately means buying an entirely new rig as I'm sure you have know the MOBO you have probably doesn't support AM3+ chips.

Strange. What graphic card do you have? My Msi Afterburn overlay says my gpu working at 90% all the time. PS- How do you see your cpu using Msi Afterburn?
I'm having the same issue. It didn't start happening till a few days after NS2 was out. Nothing about my computer changed software or hardware wise.
As far as playing the game, The framerate itself is perfectly fine on high settings, hovering in anywhere from 40 to 80 during any type of encounter it plays great, But for whatever reason as the map progresses in gameplay 10 to 15 minutes later I start to stutter wherever I go, Mostly where theres infestion or when i spawn back in or teleport or a big battle, or just Exo suits firing tracers.. I can leave the server and hop right into a new game and it acts totally normal again first the first few minutes. graphics settings don't seem to make a difference whatsoever, I've tried everything on med and barebones low, Always does the same thing shortly into the maps gameplay

I use HWInfo64 + the RTSS plugin for it; it adds a little CPu: % thing to it, showing the perctange, below GPU usage. The average; or you can choose to show 4 cores separate usage.

Fair comparison.

This is a disaster, so they cant to sell a game.
