Blue checkerboards of death

<div class="IPBDescription">followed shortly by crashing</div>I've been getting these problems ever since launch. Played all the way from beta 221 without these problems, but now I'm getting them.

I know it may be a video card issue, and mine is admittedly not state-of-the-art (GTX260) but my hunch is that these issues were introduced in the 1.0.

When I open up the console it says "couldn't load xxxx (invalid format)"

i get these every so often as well. If its not just this its just random crashing within 5 minutes of me starting to play, not having any luck. Im using a radeon 6850

If that don't work, its a long shot but try installing this: <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387" target="_blank">Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)</a>
