Hi there

I've just completely installed the game, trying out explore mode but after the 50 files for 1st run it keeps crashing... also my fps is 6-10ish.

I'm wondering if my pc meets all requirements, I think they do, but I'm starting to be skeptic after alot of crashes...

Fixed the black screen on launch.
1. run dxsetup in drive/program files (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/natural selection 2/redist/directx/
Its about half way down.
2. Delete the files in drive/users/user/appdata/roaming/natural selection 2 **NOTE YOU NEED BE ABLE TO SEE HIDDEN FOLDERS SINCE THIS IS A HIDDEN FOLDER.
- On win7 to show hidden folders click on organize>folder and search options>view check "show hidden files, folders and drives under hidden files and folders.
3. Delete the folderC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Natural Selection 2\ns2\shaders
4. Go on Steam, go to Natural selection 2, right click>properties>local files> verify integrity of cache
(this will re-download the files you just deleted, but it will be the correct files this time)
Then it will give you a message saying it's done. Then you're all set, good to play NS2.

Edit: I fixed step 3. (for sure this time) http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....=0#entry2002080

Your video card may not meet the minimum hardware requirement for NS2.

Have you tried lowering your texture quality, resolution, and switching off all the effects?

What videocard do you recommend? (Preferable the one with a good balance between price and performance)

and

What videocard do you recommend for highest graphics? (with the lowest price)

Again, precaching issue, can a mod please make a statement, collect data from users? I mean, people keep comin in reporting this, it owuld be nice if they are met with a big "Hi, we are aware of X issue and are working on it, please give us your logs" right?

BTW OP, they are working hard to fix this.

I would recommend spending $100 on a card at a minimum (ATI HD 7750 or better, or Geforce GTX 650 or better).

These cards have pretty good value, according to PassMark (check actual performance scores, subject to availability, some cards are old): http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html

Get graphic cards with 1GB VRAM while you're at it!
