Unselectable Factory

<div class="IPBDescription">game breaker</div> this has happened several times:

build factory, build turrets/buildings nearby select factory to upgrade and a random different building is selected. no upgrade button, clicking recycle recycles the factory and building factories nearby selects same object with same symptoms.

random objects selected i can remember have been a turret, a portal and an observatory.

another problem is roof clutter. in some rooms it obscures the commanders view and makes selection, waypointing and even building frustratingly difficult. some times i can't even place resourse collectors

and lastly now that the turret factories are so important to defend you should probably do something about their clipping planes as they are very hard to defend because most skulks can actually run "inside" the factory and be shielded from the turrets by its own armor. also it would be nice to be able to set the rotation that the factory is placed at. it seems to be a random rotation

I've had the same problem with turret factories. I rushed to the hive and placed one near it, with some sentry guns. I wanted to upgrade to advanced turret factory... but I couldn't... we eventually lost the game because I coulnd't get their hive down...

I had exactly the same problem, my team mates were shouting abuse telling me to get siege turrets up in south loop but whenever I tried to select the turret factory to upgrade, I selected a nearby armoury instead. Tried building another turret factory same thing happened. The previous commander before me had the same problem.

its a bug.

currently only solution I've found is to recycle factory and build another one elsewhere :/

The "can't upgrade" bug isn't limited to factory, all buldings are affected by it. This mean that you can't upgrade weapons, motion sensor, etc if the bug happens.

Sometime, recycling the object that is selected instead of your turret factory fix the bug, but it seem unreliable.

i've tried recycling and building another one, selected the same random building. haven't tried recycling the building tho...
