As the title says, I'm having problems with performance. With settings on low-med, I can get up to mid 30's. CPU clocked at 4.4 and gpu clocked at 1100 core and 1500 mem. Tried stock gpu clocks as well.

Usually getting a "waiting on gpu" between 20-30ms.

Playing at 1920x1080. Catalyst 12.11, windows8... Any ideas?

Turn your screen resolution down. That seems to have the biggest impact right now on FPS.

Surely you're not implying my PC can't actually run this game at 1080p? How can this game be so poorly optimized that I can run BF3 at 70 fps and this can't run above 30?

Try turning the res down really low and see what your FPS is. There may be problems with windows 8 compatibility at the moment.

Should be getting a lot more performance with that rig. Two things that might be causing issues:
    - Catalyst drivers might be having problems since the 7950 is still fairly new. Try updating them to see if that fixes anything.
    - Anecdotally, people have been having trouble playing NS2 with Windows 8. Might want to try a compatibility mode with Win7 or earlier.

Not implying anything other than test your resolution.
