New Bug With Lattest Patch?

Other then the other bugs that seem to have poped up I have noticed what seems to be a memory leak on servers. All the servers I played on today and yesterday played fine for the first 30-40 mins of the match(had ping of around 60) and then around the 50 min mark the pings of everyone jumped up by around 200-300 points (depending on connect type). It goes up for everyone across the board, so it has to be server side.

Also once a new level started pings went back down to regular levels. Make me think that something that happens late game: Large seiges, battles, upgrades, hivesight, etc, would be the cause of it.

I have noticed symptoms like you mention here. The only thing I can think of is that near the end of a game so many buildings are on the map that it slows the server down. Funny thing is, I don't remember it happening before. Maybe it is a bug. I have no clue whatsoever.

Our admin took down our NS 1.02 server yesterday because he said it used too many resources and was a severe drain on the CPU. He was running RedHat 7.2 on a Hewlett Packard machine with a 1.7GHz Pentium 4 and 512mb RAM. He said last night when we had about 14 players on board that resource usage was going up to 75-90 percent at times, and it started lagging really bad to the point of being unplayable (pings going up in the 300-400 range). He also noted that it went back to normal when the games started over. He is going to run some other games on that box to see if it is NS or his box that is the problem, but apparently other people are encountering the same thing with NS. Our server admin is frustrated with NS so far from an admin point of view. Which is sad because it's such a great game.

ns has always been plagued by too many resources, it uses less than it did before tho.
