my game crashes when i use alien vision

when i use alien vision (not sure if that's the exact name, it's the vision mode you switch with F key) my game crashes.
i have ati 4870 with latest drivers. been like this since couple of patches back.

does anyone have a solution?

    Have you tried a clean install? Maybe your shaders became corrupt.

    It would be very helpful to post the log file (helps locate the error faster). Try loading up NS2, join a server or start your own listen server, then turn on Alien Vision again.

    If it crashes, go to C:\Users\[Insert your computer account name here]\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2

    There should be a file named "log". Open it and copy-paste everything and post it here. We'll see what's wrong :)

    ok this is weird. today i played for 1 or 2 hrs all alien with no crash or freeze. i'll try to get the log file if i ever freeze again. btw my mistake, it wasnt a game crash, it was a freeze. frozen screen with repeating sound effect loop.

    thnx for the help. i'll keep you updated if anything else happens.
