Flame grenade for marines

Hey guys.
in game I noticed how when carrying a flamer my marine walks slowly and cant run fast. It kinda slows down the game for me. Also I noticed that some alien commanders group their defensive structures in one place. So instead of carrying a big flamethrower that I cant use effectively, cause I'm slow compared to fast skulks and die easy, maybe I can use a fire grenade to set on fire a target or targets and then continue with my rifle or shotgun to evade skulks.

Flamethrower is a fail weapon, unfortunately, even with the dmg buff and cheapening. It has some tactical use as an energy-sapping weapon, but its role to destroy infestation isn't very meaningful, because infestation itself isn't very meaningful (except pretty textures). What a FT does, a shotgun or GL does better from what I've seen.
The GL works because it is anti-structure, and as a solo marine you are pretty much screwed against life forms.
The flamer is just stuck smack in between everything, so comes across as being quite useless.
It needs a more solid role.
The problem is infestation is meaningless right now (223), and energy sapping doesn't justify it costing more than a shotgun imo.
And the damage is pretty silly against lifeforms.
1. Push the Range by 75-100%
2a. Make it a "stackabla DoT" like BileBomb is right now, so it does vialable damage on structures and lifeforms at all (its still very dangerous to face lifeforms then, cause they still do instant damage, while you dont).
2b. Another option is to make the damage not linear, but exponential. This would also be kind of realistic. You can walk through a wall of fire without getting hurt if you are fast (maybe burning some hairs). The fire starts hurting after about 0.5 sec. After 1.5 sec it actually starts "burning" you.

Exactly, the most pointless weapon in the game. I just have this picture of marines and aliens having some massive fight, whilst a lone marine gets his brush out and starts sweeping up the infestation.
It should be the weapon of choice for mothers, taking care of the kids and sweeping up after them.
(Please note, I know men do this too...)
:P
Ceriberi arent even planned! and don't get your hopes up
Though we all would love it ingame D:
