I mean seriously? did people just ###### a lot to the point that dev's gave in and made these changes? SO much for a free environment and being able to hide. Yeah, making an invisible wall makes absolute perfect sense. It's just other players ###### about a gorge constantly killing the RT on landing pad when the solution is "HEY WAIT A MINUTE, SECOND CHAIR AND JP, OMG, WHY HAVE WE NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!?"

How's about you make a god damn shortcut to landing pad so we don;t have to make a run-through through cafe or term.

Seriously, these stupid changes have to stop even if they are in favor of a alpha player or long term beta player that somehow made a name for himself in the community. Yeah i am talking about you, you know who you are. Just because i am a beast gorge and you can't handle it, you end up dumbing up the gameplay, oh sorry, not dumbing up the gameplay, "BALANCE".

    Funnily enough, there's both a connection to landing pad, and a removal of the RT in landing pad in 224...

    Vent from central to LP, no res node. With the additional vents, it should hopefully unf*** that currently very f***ed for aliens map. :-)

    calm down.

    It is fixed next patch, the RT has been removed from it and aliens can go where they please again.

    Why, leave the RT there. If marines have caf and termianl it not like aliens are going to cyst to landing pad and build the RT. Or was the RT removed cause they took away the maint and ball court RT, to make it just one. I suppose it a fair trade for aliens to loose an RT and now marines.

    Because the map previously had 11 RTs, which is quite a lot (optimally 10 RTs is the most you want on a map). And Landing Pad RT was the least contested ("free") RT on the map so it got removed.

    The landing pad RT really wasn't needed anymore since marines now only spawn in terminal. It was mostly a useful crutch to make cafeteria a viable starting location. There are still 10 RTs on docking, which is comparable to the other official maps.

    Landing Pad seems kinda pointless now doesnt it? A lot of good art and prop work but a complete waste of space. Might be better with a glass hallway that allows you to see all that hard mapper work without actually using all the space. Not to mention Cafeteria and Terminal are way to close imo =)

    IMO, the vent to cafeteria needs to go to landing pad (it can go to both cafe and landing, but at least have it go to landing pad). A big problem with this map is that as long as marines hold terminal and cafeteria, they can hold landing pad res with very little contest. That is because there's no way to reach landing pad without going through one of the marine bases, and due to the very open layout of terminal and cafe with only one entrance in (apart from FROM landing pad), and very little cover, it makes it almost impossible to get to landing pad. Most other maps have ways to circumvent the marine base and get to their close res points at the same time. At the moment, as long the marines hold those two tech points, they don't have to protect the extractor in between.

    Sure, there's no extractor there anymore, but it should be added back in in my opinion - as long as there's another way to get to it via the vent in central. That way it can actually be contested if marines hold cafeteria.

    Can somebody tell me the part of the video that shows invisible walls?

    The vent does not go to cafeteria or terminal. There are no openings to cafeteria or terminal. The vent goes to landing pad only. Watch the full video in the same thread.

    It would probably require far too much of an overhaul, but I would like to see a siege spot to cafeteria or terminal in landing pad.

    Just because a room does not have an RT nor techpoint in it does not mean it is pointless!

    Landing pad RT is a trap anyway. Any good alien will harass it and hide underneath the pad. Pretty much impossible to stop someone killing it.

    Landing pad is a pain anyway, so not sure what the op is going on about.

    As soon as any skulk gets there they have the ability to munch on the rt and then just hide underneath when a marine comes.

    As I've said elsewhere the RT is deleted, the clipping underneath landing pad and above the glass window is gone and the vent from Central leads right into Landing pad it's just that the overview is a bit bugged because of commander invisible stuff.

    There were a bunch of invisible walls added to docking two patches or so ago. There is one that lowers the ceiling and prevents aliens from going on top of that ledge over the door to terminal and there are also walls underneath the pad that block off all but the edges.

    There may be some more but I haven't been playing since 223 came out.
