[Issue, Maybe?] Server browser and Steam background downloading

I'm really not sure if there is anything your game can do to control it from the game client, but it might be appropriate to ask Steam to stop downloading content in the background while in the server browser for Natural Selection. I've noticed that some Steam titles will stop all download traffic when launched, I'm not sure how that works, but if you can emulate it, that'd be nice.
I bring it up because I found myself trying to figure out why there were no servers under 1800ms while Steam was chugging away silently downloading updates for stuff. Maybe it's a bug with Steam, who knows.
Game is great, you guys rock. I've had tons of fun playing the beta.
