A possible solution to new aliens being WEAK

Dearest UnknownWorlds Devs,
There has been much discussion as to the annoying weakness of end-game skulks, of how vulnerable they are as soon as they spawn, etc.
It seems to me that a simple, non-imballancing solution might be to allow aliens to select their evolutions BEFORE they actually respawn. Then a skulk could come into the game with carapace and cerelety should they be available to him.
and/or he could choose to go fade and the upgrades, etc and instead of insta-spawning, once he's in the egg he just starts evolving fade.
It would also give dead aliens something to do.
regardless I'd like to be able to see personal res when I'm dead so I can think about what my next move is while awaiting respawn.
Thanks for your consideration.

Great idea, +1
EDIT: And what peregrinus said.
Picking an egg spawning location through the RTS view, and then the egg would work wonders for how players approach spawning.
You know I thought this was already in...no wonder I could never do it...I guess it was removed some patches ago. I still think the message displays on the screen about pressing space or a mouse button to switch eggs. Maybe its just the Mouse0 spawn tip. I don't remember.
I also think spawning with upgrades would level the field a bit when the hive is pressured -- it's none too hard to destroy eggs which cuts down on spawning, already. Also, there are times when I can't even help after spawning because I sometimes get a wicked FPS drop when I burst out of an egg going from 3rd to first person. I usually have a pretty decent and consistent framerate all game too.
I have already seen marines exploiting the wave spawn system: well, perhaps exploit is a strong word. Taking advantage of, to be sure. :)
