Cannot join servers after new build (223).

Ever since the new build has been released i cant join servers at all. I'm still having the usual problems of the standard server browser not populating at all or taking about 30 seconds to populate. However now i'm also experiencing problems trying to join games. It will always get to the "loading assets" part and then either crash to desktop or it will just hang and not do anything further. I was using the menumod but now even when i load that it just gives me a black screen and nothing else. I have uninstalled menumod and the problems are still persisting.

Is anyone else experiencing any of these problems? Or does anyone know some fixes?
