Lerks should counter jetpacks

<div class="IPBDescription">some ideas to give lerks a better advantage</div>I was thinking Lerks should be able to place web like traps so when a jetpack comes near by he/she will get trap. Something more for a Lerk to do. Also, Lerks should be able to grab marines and throw them to there doom.

    Lerks should have devour, like ns1 onos. During the time the marine is in the lerks belly, the lerk should only be allowed to roll like a baneling, and not to fly. If he tries to flap, he can only get like 50 cm above ground and it should like like when a chicken tried to fly.

    During this time the marine should have a minigame where he plays a game of fast paced chess against someone who is also devoured on another server.

    yea, a nice effect would be a nice rush to the marines head and pulling his head off. It would be hard to do like a mortal kombat finishing move Lerk style.

    Lerks spores should disrupt the combustion process within the jetpack. If the air to fuel mixture is changed the jetpack should run like crap. If spores are mixed with the air (making the air thinner) the drop in performance should be noticed the jetpack tempararily cutting out or the lifting power reduced.

    A great idea! Lerks should be able to build bird-nest-like traps that would also work like a devour, except the trap-nests would turn the marines into baby lerk eggs that other aliens could evolve into!

    I liked the baneling idea, but it would not be immersive, instead we should make onos roll to the base, xenocide, ink, bile and spore the whole room exploding in the process.

    Also not to make it useless, I think it be nice to have effects lasting 2min or so that everyone find the base in time.

    This is obviously not the best place to post this but it always seemed like a good idea to me to give Lerks web. Since Lerks aren't particularly combat effective by themselves, and they serve more of a support role, they should be given an ability that makes it easier for other lifeforms to take down marines. Simple way to promote more teamwork on aliens, which is the main thing that wins them games right now.

    I always preferred the ns1 fade vs jetpack style of gameplay. Always some of the most intense midair fps combat.

    How about an ability that would let a lerk latch onto a jet-packer and bring them to the ground.

    no.. this isn't avp with hardcounters. if we put that in, it would be unique as it would be the only ability that you cant counter, spores short circuiting the jetpack itself would work wonders.

    we recently discussed an attack which would cause the marine to disconnect from the server. as placeholder i would reuse the old dubstep ball nano shield effect: any marine touching the lerk with that ball active -> kick (with optional setting for server admins also kick ban)

    Nah too weak it should also uninstall the game and shut down your computer.
