<div class="IPBDescription">"Marines, go here first"</div>One thing that really irritates me when I'm playing marines is the polite queues that form around phase gates when the team has to phase through to attack a hive or something. This is because instead of magically going directly to the place of concern, the whole team has to visit every stop in the phase gate network.
So I'm suggesting that the commander should have the ability to set one phase gate as the priority gate. This would mean that instead of having to go through the entire chain of phase gates to get to that gate, marines could go there directly. After a marine has passed through the priority gate, they would be able to continue on to the remaining gates as per usual. This priority status would be freely transferable between phase gates; which would give the comm a bit more control over directing his troops as the round progressed.
Thoughts?

Also adding the fact that Hive Teleportation isn't even an ability anymore.
I do agree though that it makes the already powerful phase gates even more so. Implementation of this will further increase the need for some sort of alien counterpart to Phase Tech/Beacons.
Its a more balanced suggestion since powering phase gates back up will take time, leaving places vulnerable if the commander decides to try to direct marine flow to one place.
How about, instead, PGs are simply linked together? In other words, gate one takes you to gate two, and vice versa? Then three takes you to four, etc. Then, if a PG is destroyed (say 2), then the one back in marine base (number 1) becomes unusable since it is no longer linked to anywhere.
Like Nydus Canals.
this seems like a better way of balancing it to me.
Balance should not be an excuse for having a really annoying feature.
I imagine the slowdown of manually choosing the gate is what kept it fairly balanaced.
