What if your cpu never waits on your gpu? [ r_stats ]

I'm aware my system is below minimum system requirements.

Pent4 2.8ghz
2GB
Radeon HD4660

The improvements in the last few patches have helped so much I've caught myself having fun (for most of the round) instead of cursing my rig. I get 45fps/15fps. The end game is still a slide show but my fingers are crossed max has a few more tweaks to pull the trigger on.

Out of habit, I test each new build by turning everything off (except the multi core thing) in graphics. Now that the game is running a little better I am encouraged enough to mess around with the graphic tweaks. I notice if I turn everything on I still get a constant 0 ms waiting for GPU.

I guess I am looking for confirmation that I'm not sacrificing any frames with everything turned on as long as it reports 0 ms waiting for GPU?
I figure as long as I'm looking at a slide show the pictures should be nice right?

That's not quite correct. Resolution and AF is absolutely free as long as you remain GPU bound.

The other features may require a little bit of work on the CPU, but are still cheap-ish. I believe shadows is the most CPU heavy as that requires rendering the scene again from the perspective of the light source(depth only).

Better texture quality might be free. Depends on how much memory you have. If there's not enough the game has to evict stuff that isn't being used(at the moment) from memory and read stuff from the harddrive, that causes stuttering.
