Skulk idea and PG + Clog idea

Had a thought, disagree at will (Sorry if they've been covered before)!

a) Aside from surprise, you'd now have an larger benefit to attacking marines from dark corners or vents etc
b) It'd encourage marines to have someone watching there back (Where as I'm starting to see alot of rambos lately).
c) It'd make skulks more fun but still require skill and fore-thought.

Wouldn't it be cool if a sneaky alien could actually prevent the marines from using the phasegate with clogs? (Should be balanced once the marines have turrets working again).

Anyways, just thought I'd throw them out there!

    Disabling phase gates with clogs is a nice idea.

    The marines need some kind of very visible feedback about what's stopping them from phasing. It should also be temporary as a balancer, so that the gorge is bound to be present and clogging it up all the time.

    "Damn, a Gorge is clogging our phase gate! Someone go and take care of it!"

    Haha exactly! At the moment, if you cover a phase gate in clogs a marine will just spawn on the outer edge of the clogs.. not what I was expecting! If I'm allowed to build clogs, then I should be able to cover phase gates and infantry portals >:D

    Sorta like the power from the phase gates event horizon (the blue part you actually touch to phase through) and possible contact from the event horizon would destroy the clog after a half minute or so, maybe less, like 15 seconds. It would need testing obviously.

    Maybe some of the phase gates that link to the clogged one could even have some clogs sticking out of the event horizon, and clinging to sides some, so you'd be able to phase to those still, though not to the one that is clogged up, and some visual stuttering of the event horizon, flickering rather, shows somethings up and is disrupting the link.

    Was going to think of something against the infantry portals, but if a Marine team isn't paying enough attention and has a Gorge, one of the slowest moving aliens get into their base, and manage to build a sufficient cover over an infantry portal with their clogs, kinda deserves it.

    I feel like there could be abuse problems with the skulk idea, primarily being that a marine with a bad ping jumping around, trying to land a sg hit on a skulk without getting his arm torn off, could be bitten many times from behind. It might work if it was just one bite within however many seconds on this one marine, but that seems like it's starting to get a little over complicated.

    The clog idea, though... I can certainly feel potential there. At the moment there's no really good counter against phase gates other than a big skulk rush, because even if you kill every marine on the team, they'll just respawn and phase before you can destroy it. Even if a clog only blocked it for 3 or 4 seconds, I think this would really help battle Gorges fulfill their support role rather than just a walking healer until bilebomb is researched.
