SR, you know funny thing about why I dont like posting on the forums, I always tend like others to read so far then start my reply. Yes I saw your other answers (after the fact, bad on me) NA Staggered matches? the round happening tomorrow Friday will not be broadcast as a stream, some matches will be filmed for post production NS2HD videos, the games that will be streamed are the semi-finals some lower brackets and the grand finale.
The bracket is the way it is, the other issue with DE tourneys is that unless you have 8 or 16 teams the brackets line up funny. Based on who was playing and skill/region determined the brackets as they are, again NOT SEEDED, but matchups... I anticipate there being 16 teams for the next two events which will help negate this problem.
Also in regards to the numbers next to the name, I will see about removing those in Challonge, they were mainly for me so I could see how the team names were being sorted from the list of participants again NOT SEEDING RANKS.

Me and Varathar, who were our only comms back during Wasabi Cup, were both away doing social stuff. The guys decided to play anyhow and TrC had to comm. Since I wasn't playing that day, I can't know if they had to use a merc at some point. The name Team Wasabi was indeed for ***** and giggles... If I remember, I'll ask the guys tomorrow if they had to use a merc during the cup. Not that important anyhow.

No worries :)
We are well aware they are not seeding ranks now, but there were many people who assumed that, all incorrectly of course :)
Now I know I can't watch any of the games, I feel even more disappointed than before, thinking I could only watch 6 of the 8, hahaha :)
I am looking forward to this and all future NS2 tournaments, I love watching NS2 matches. Let's hope for a great tournament, and many more great tournaments ahead :)

Here is the team list for the game from the wasabione.com website, I think I notice a few non-exertus players when compared to your website list?
Wasabi Cup Team Synomi Varathar Timar Surround Squirreli Laama Zups TrC Nadyli Elmo Garo Olio Skie
It may not matter too much to you, but I would like to make a proper ranking system from the major tournaments, even if it is just used by ns2league for our tournaments :) Obviously I would like to be accurate :)
Even if one of olio, skie, goro, etc played for Team Wasabi; you can't discount them as being effectively Exertus for any stat and / or ranking purposes. No more than you can disregard nxzl in the ENSL cup as being nxzl for the exact same reason.

Sorry eh?, it's late, and I've lost track if you are saying I have to count them, or I can't count them :P
I don't think we really care either. Just make a ruling and make it a precedent. I guess that even if we had known that there was some sort of long-term scoring penalty attached to playing as Team Wasabi, we would still have gone with the fake name just for the fun of it. Wasabi Cup needs a Team Wasabi ;)
Actually, now that I think of it: If you want a long term scoring system to really work, you might want to make a thread about it or something. Getting a consensus on the rulings could make the system more widely supported and accepted.

After reading this thread I am a little shocked the answer to the seeding was that the matchups were just decided on who they wanted to fight who...
Also, as feedback for the future, I had to ask to check whether or not other streamers would be allowed to stream (because after talking to them they weren't sure) and others have had to ask about the seeding (here and swalk's email that was ignored). I pointed it out in the original thread but transparency could have fixed all this, its just a little bit of professionalism and you are so close to getting it right.
Thanks for putting these events on and good luck in the future.
** edit: Just for reference as this seems to have been missed, one of the goals when using seeding is to avoid matchups like duplex v Archaea or Exertus v Archaea or duplex v Exertus early on. If you are going to be running tournaments perhaps a little research first on what mechanics are used and more importantly why, would be useful. It probably would have been much better to just announce we have an odd number of teams and the format we chose does not support this easily, so we are picking some teams to move directly to the second round. Seeding wasn't actually used which has caused this confusion. **

As long as you count both or don't count both then there is atleast some precedent set on whether you are allowed a merc or two.
Actually, now that I think of it: If you want a long term scoring system to really work, you might want to make a thread about it or something. Getting a consensus on the rulings could make the system more widely supported and accepted.
