Can humans hear aliens & aliens hear humans?

I was wondering if humans can hear aliens and aliens can hear humans in voice chat when in close proximity? Because I've thought I've heard the other team talking before but I'm not sure.

Not normally.

Some servers have all talk enabled, you will be able to hear everyone on these servers, which is probably what you've experienced.

no, but you will see the talk icon above their head if they are talking (lolbug). You just won't hear them.

Also you can hear them using the voice emotes like asking for ammo or a medpack thats most probs what you are hearing
