Like aliens on walls marines fighting in space, the list goes on.

You got that stuff in all si-fi games and movies...
As stated in the FAQ, the team has been slightly influenced, in a graphical way by aliens, but I'm pretty sure NS is around longer than AvP2. BTW teh team tries to saty away as much as they can from alines and starcaft, but you can't say Fox has the copyrights on wall climbing aliens or spaceships....

This game also resembles starcraft with its similar command console, gloom from Quake 2 where its marines vs humans and you build stuff and half-life itself cause there is marines fighting aliens and avp cause of the wall clmbing, etc. All games have things in common these days to each other, there is only so many genres.
Look at racing games, if people got picky about them, there is alot of differences between them, but they are all racing, so the must be ripping off each other! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
