I agree something needed changing from 220.... Where I could drop a shot gun for the same tres as a jet pack. But I don't think pres=tres is the right way to go. I think it should scale but to say that a shotgun is worth as much as giving everyone lvl 1 armor (20 tres) is clearly not the same.
It is a fact that tres is more precious then pres. Lets treat res as the currency it is and find a fair exchange rate.
My recommendation. scale it all to 2:1
8 tres for mines
10 tres for shotgun
8 tres jp. Or 15 pres
13tres GL
25 mech
In general I think tres cost should be half pres and rounded up.

Did you see what happened when we had 30 res fade eggs? It was STUPID. 3-4 fade eggs waiting for free in hives every time you died. If commanders are spending surplus res to buy things they normally would not buy, they should pay a premium for it. If anything is further adjusted, player items should cost more tres than they do in pres.
2 Tres for every Pres!

Onos 150 TRes
Fade 100 TRes
Makes the investment from the commander a SERIOUS investment.
In the Blind Beta cup last night almost every alien team went for saving Tres for Onos...

2 hive t-res onos is indeed incredibly powerful (usually see it anywhere from 7-15 mins into game), if anything I think this might be a timing issue. If it actually develops into a problem I think the best solution is to move Onos t-res drops to a 3 hive requirement just as fade drops were moved to a 2 hive req.
Yeah.. that is why this was changed to Pres=Tres in the first place. There's a pretty damn good reason why 221 included this change.
Losing 5 Fades/killing 2 Onos and not really making a dent in the Alien economy was pretty retarded..
