Currently the aliens are being disadvantaged by 2 things eggs and time. If one alien dies they get a 14 second respawn time even if there are enough eggs. 3 or 4 hives, 60+ eggs and 1 alien dies and they still get a 14 second respawn time.

The wave spawn is just broken, you can’t get around it.

Eggs, sometimes there’s not enough and many times this occurs early in the game mainly on larger servers. Eggs don’t spawn fast enough, too many times does the 12 second timer get reset cause people like to play the game.

On a side note:
1. Stop thinking all matches are on a 6v6 server, if you do stop.
2. Once this game goes live there will be about 10 to 20 more players who don’t understand the game so ease up or they will die a lot.

    Eggs are fine. Wave spawn is not.

    Egg lock is till all too common, with more new players the egg limit/requirement hurts.

    The way it is aliens have 1 smart 1st upgrade - Shift hive...so they can get more eggs, otherwise they risk losing thanks to be egg locked and having 30+ second spawns.

    Marines can build IP's to spawn faster no matter what tech path they choose, so can die at will and respawn often only 8 second later.
    Compare that to aliens who are looking at closer to an average of 20-25 seconds (from my experience).

    This makes it very hard for aliens, who will die more often due to no ranged attack of defense, as they try to push into areas and try to claim some map control.
    I have been on sides with decent players and this has happened, simply because there where some good marines and close spawns.

    I think the egg check needs to go or a lot more eggs need to be available. You cant have one side having 30+ sec spawns times and the other 8 seconds, well not that way around considering the other asymmetry points (ie ranged v melee and lack of any real mobility difference early game).

    I think its time to realise that some of the changes (like spawn wave/egg limits) are no longer needed and where only needed during early days of beta when marines had very little tech and bad FPS (ranged suffers more from bad FPS..easier to play aliens than marines with a high ping).

    I have no idea why this was ever suggested.. I would have just made sure that eggs were abundant and never the limiting factor.. and just adjust wave spawn times as necessary?
    This ensures the frustrating gameplay that the OP experiences does not happen unless the marines really have a lockdown on the room. Fewer eggs are easier to see as well as destroy and prevent spawning.

    Clearly we have been playing a different game to zeikko as I dont know any any situation of late where aliens have had issues respawning too fast.
    And as you pointed out fewer eggs means fewer targets in a hive to kill and lock out aliens.

    Clearly though there is a problem that neither of us are aware of...(zerg machine of doom being what exactly I wonder...)
