Hi guys,
When do we get a good server software for linux/windows like SRCDS or HLDS?
I have just started up my server "Playstar.se #1" and the CPU usage is a nightmare for real, i have been hosting gameservers since early -00 and have never seen something like this.
Hope we can get some stable binarys for windows or linux because this is really wierd that you need to dedicated a full core on 3.6GHz to run 18slot when i can run 4x30 slots on HLDS or SRCDS on one core.
You should put this as high priority because it would be fun to host more than 8servers on a 5k $ setup.
if you want to test my gameserver you can find it on 80.67.2.229:27001 or in the gamelist ingame.

Yes, server performance is not where anyone wants it to be yet. Yes, there has been and is ongoing work on this. This is not exactly news to anyone.

I want a more satable software like HLDS or SRCDS, they arent perfect but they are 1000times better than NS2s atm.
U feel me?
Edit: And of course, this is a very high priority for the developers. But making it high priority is not going to magically fix the problem or create more time to fix it.

No not at all - it betrays a misunderstanding of the server binaries and their total lack of a relationship with the source engine? What exactly are you trying to say - you want them to migrate? You want them to perform as equally resource efficiently as those two entirely unrelated dedicated server binaries?
Apples and Oranges - server cost per slot is indeed high at the moment, but by no means are you spending anywhere near $5K for 8 servers. Try nearer $2.3K for a machine that can run 7 comfortable 18 slot 30tick instances.
They will reduce load in future updates - but it will take really quite a long time to get the impressive gains everyone seems to think should appear out of thin air.
