<div class="IPBDescription">Pressing C opens the map but it also chooses Shade hive</div>For a long time as alien commander I was confused as to why I would find that I had accidentally evolved my hive to Shade. Then, I realized that the keyboard shortcut for opening the map © is the same as for evolving shade hive! Therefore, I had been trying to open the map and had been accidentally evolving to shade!
For the benefit of all those who will be similarly confused by the default shortcuts, you should at least consider a different mapping.

And rantology, W for minimap? Wondering the rest of your controls =)
My movement keys are asdf... d-forward f--backwards a-left s-right. Yes I know I'm weird. It's a funny story.
Sounds like you re-mapped kinda like hjkl for Vim, except for the left hand.
In other news, one of my friends is esdf for life.
I also tried keying the map to mouse-3, but for some reason it did not work in commander mode. If you guys were to fix that issue, it would certainly help.
wait waht
That's what I want to know!

it worked for mouse 4 for me, maybe the mousewheel is a special case because it is used for the map-ping?
but i also got a commander conflicht which i cannot solve by rebinding: german keyboard layouts have y and z exchanged. so to activate something on bottom left corner, i have to press the key between t and u.

it might still be needed for some people to see the area-names.
