Experiences In Game.

Last night, I joined mid-game on the Aliens side (Can't remember which server at this point) Immediate first spawn is Onos.. Now I can't play Onos and the time-period given to select a different egg is like 1 second..

I think it was on Summit, Aliens had a Crag Hive and Invisibility Hive (Shift?) And I think a 3rd one. Marines had about 3 Exos if I can remember rightly. Now I'm not much good at playing Alien but I enjoy trying to eat helpless Marines. However once you add in JP'ing Shotguns and GL's coupled with 3 exos and players that hold a 38-3 K/D ratio, It gets a little ridiculous.

It may have been an example of skill or just that there was no teamplay on the Aliens side, however from my perspective it seemed like an absolute domination. Aliens couldn't push anywhere, Marines simply camped outside Hive and dragged the game out over an extra half an hour.

Has this sort of..Scenario happened elsewhere? Just trying to get a sense of people's experiences.

Troll ending. I was once onos rushed by the whole other team. 8 onoses at once. Took us by surprise. We killed two, but the other 5 took out everything but the two ip's and the command station. Then they continued to stomp so we could not fight back. They did this till all marines pressed f4

I think egg selection is still borked, so you were stuck with whatever egg you happened to spawn in.

Player skill is a massive determining factor in predicting who will win: if one player can dominate a bunch of opposing players, the others will take back all the territory. It's unfair but there really isn't a way to balance that, nor should there be.

That scenario happens all the time, but I have seen some great alien turn-arounds: that's the thing I like about this game, that it forces people to work together to achieve great results.

Happily, the scenario you're describing doesn't happen all the time.

When you join a game halfway through, most of the time you're joining the losing team. Or the perceived losing team. You got put into a pre-evolved egg (which I believe 219 changed, you should spawn as a skulk all the time first now) and probably were facing some pretty good marines. Stuff happens. Games like that I start to see if I can't sneak around and take out an undefended base somewhere and secure a second hivespot... failing that, go snipe out some res towers. Just be a nuisance.
