<div class="IPBDescription">3 points that needs attention!</div>I took a break from NS2 for a few weeks and a lot has changed. I played a bit today and i like most of the changes, however there are 3 key points that i experienced as very negative and actually made the game more frustrating and not fun, which is not good. When talking to the people in the servers that i played in, they all unanimously agreed with me (point 1 and 3). I realize that we are close to launch and some of this stuff wont be changed, but please consider giving the players options to minimize or remove the stuff im about to talk about.
1) (Minor issue). The new movement speed as Marine is not good at all. I think its a combination of audio feedback and the sluggish movement. It literally feels like im moving a tank or that im floating through the world. It is quite frustrating to be honest, i found the original movement speed to be perfect. I think the footstep sound effects needs to be increased too because i can barely hear myself walking. It just makes movement feel off and weird.
2) As most games do nowadays, NS2 finally implemented Wallhack as a feature. I dont know why game companies do this, but its getting rampant and annoying. What used to be considered cheating is now a feature. Why is this happening? The aliens are now able to see enemies through walls if an ally can see them. Now, my complaint is coming from the side of playing as Alien. I dont WANT to see my enemies through the wall. It removes the tension and fun out of playing alien. The fun of hiding in a dark spot, hearing the marines coming closer, seeing their flashlights getting wider, and FINALLY jumping out at them to make the kill, is now gone. Now you simply look at the wall and jump out when they appear. A whole level of fun gameplay mechanic, tactics, and tension has been removed due to the wallhack. If this "feature" will not be removed, please allow the option for players to turn it off. I dont care if having it off gives me a disadvantage, because at the end of the day its more fun having it off.
3) Playing as alien, the new outline around enemies and allies is very annoying and frustrating. Please allow an option to reduce or remove this completely. Maybe im stuck in the oldschool way of thinking, but i like taking in all the feedback from the actual 3D game world and forge my tactics and decisions based on that, i dont need hints and UI to point out where things are. When attacking a room with lets say 5 other aliens, i dont NEED the game to point out that they are in front of me with huge orange silhouettes, i can clearly see their 3D models myself. After a while, the silhouettes are just bloating up my screen and gives me a headache. What used to be a minimal and clear screen is now cluttered with useless hints and obnoxious colors. I cant focus on what i need to focus on because the game is trying to decide for me what i should look at and pay attention to.
I understand that point 2 and 3 are purely made for new casual gamers who wants to play the game. The reason why i havent bought nearly any game at all for the past 3 years except for NS2 is because these 2 things have taken over the whole gaming industry, and it annoys the crap out of me. Please, Unknown Worlds, i beg you! Give me the option to play my favorite game without this silly stuff :)

2) Hivesight is a hallmark of alien play which has been in the game since NS1. It was only recently removed because of some bugs or incompleteness and was hastily reincorporated.
3) Outlines don't particularly annoy me because I'm not OC about them.
2/3) This has always been a feature of NS1/2. During this beta and in NS1 hive sight was represented by glowing decals that signified where other players were, or where parasited marines were.
The real problem with this is that (especially for new players) you don't know what they are, and you don't clearly know what is what. Now it is easy to see what type of marine you are about to encounter as well as what other life forms you are fighting with.
I hope this becomes standard for alien night vision as well, as everyone still seems to have issues with that. Personally I find it a lot clearer! But each to their own.
