Timeout / Authentication issues

When ever I try to connect to a server, I get stuck on authenticating for about 2 minutes. After that I get sent back to the main menu with a timeout error.
The error log give me "Error: Attempted to load remote options from a file that does not exist."
Has anyone know how to resolve this?

Your problem is that steam is not authenticating. After a period it throws you back to the menu. You can get your loog at %appData%/Natural Selection 2/log.
You can post it here, but it is just you not getting through to the steam servers, for whatever reason.. steam servers busy, down etc. 3rd party games don't have the same high priority as Valve games, unfortunately.
