Weird problem, need help

When ever i start the game up, the background to the main menu is darker than it should be, and even after turning up the brightness, it still stays that way. This also happens in-game. I cannot even play marine because I can't see anything because it's too dark. And to add even more to that, with most servers, when I join, i get a transparent, full-screen picture of a city, and with the added darkness, I can't even see where I move. I've re-installed it, adjusted brightness and gamma, validated the file via steam, and still the problem occurs. No clue what to do next, please help.

    Cann you provide screenshots and tell us your specs?
    Do you get any errors in the console?

    Try disabling AA as per above link.
