Bugs:
-Marine footsteps seem to be inaudible unless sprinting to the self. Other players are always inaudible. Landing jumps are still audible. Also when sprinting you sound like multiple marines. There seems to be some sound when walking on infestation, but only faintly.
-Visual glitch on the new evolve menu, some icons have unsightly partial outlines (most notably carapace)
-Docking's Terminal can still start without an IP.
-Not introduced by 218, but sometimes you can see the khamm on Obs radar. (A red dot moving too fast and ignoring map boundaries)
-Ran into a problem where advanced armory weapons were disabled at the main armory, presumably due to losing an armory at another base. Bug existed in 217.
-do not have a sound for fade swipe making contact with a marine (unconfirmed)
-If you use all your energy blinking as a fade your alien vision drops
-Not introduced in 218, but as a lerk you often can see leap on your energy/ability HUD element.
-Not introduced in 218, but w/a upgrades always appear red to Exo players.
-Not introduced in 218, but the new hive/CS music tracks are unaffected by music volume slider being off.
Possible undocumented changes:
-Can't devolve a trait as alien; and traits are reset upon evolving to a new creature. One player said that the former change is countered by hypermutation, but I haven't had it yet to check myself.
-Cysts now worth two score, down from five.
-Various fonts and type sizes changed (VoIP names, map zone names, etc..)
Tram:
-Added some boxes to protect the (warehouse) hive from marines sniping it from the entry to Alien Tunnels.

Working as intended. People were flipping Cara/Regen and abusing free upgrades. Hypermutation should allow you to de-evolve to skulk and re-evolve with new upgrades.

Also when sprinting you sound like multiple marines? WTB a hotfix :(
If I stay fade for fifteen minutes and we don't have hyper mutation, there might be a new upgrade I want or the game has changed (jp) and now I need a different upgrade to accommodate.. But I won't be able to.
Upgrades trickle in during a match.. and tactics/needs constantly change in such a dynamic game of tug o war that not being able to adapt is not very "natural"..
Terminal on Docking is bad for this
Also, is the gorge mouth (especially the top) taking up more screen space?

How about allowing reselecting traits only at hives? Removes the punishment for avoiding death, but still prevents hot-swapping traits just by ducking in a vent.
thanks.
edit: although.. how do you communicate this to the player?
a tooltip in the evolve menu? i cant see it being obvious or intuitive...hmmm
I'd like to see 10% of lifeform cost to switch upgrades. Gorge 1, Lerk 3, Fade 5, Onos 8.
Skulks get freebies as always. Their payment is time spent evolving that they could be spending as cannon fodder. Bonus: Hyperevolution still benefits upgrade swappers because they can dip into skulk to flip upgrades, making it less useless than it was a patch ago.
I liked as it was before, it was especially very newb-friendly to practice and play around with the upgrades. For balance, all you had to do is enhance the mutation time needed a bit when you change an upgrade but not the lifeform. If you'd then flip alot, you'd also spend alot of time. Guess I don't need to point out that time is the most valuable resource in strategy games, so that would be the most easy and safe way to balance. Plus it prevents confusion, new mechanics to learn and mostly frustration.
I humbly suggest reconsidering.
thanks.

A big "Get close to a hive to evolve" message on the evolve screen could take care of that. Or perhaps add some harsh evolve-time penalty to being away from a hive for selecting traits.

Ha, the first time I saw that I was like; "Whoa, was that a UFO?" :D
That's pretty much a game breaker. Too bad, there was even a tournament planned for this weekend that will probably have to be canceled now.
I kept wondering what caused this. Really annoying.
The font changes was done to fix problems on some clients, which means the size of texts have changed in many places, and will have to be adjusted.
Locking aliens to the upgrades they chose was apparently a design decision, some agreed with it, while others didn't like it. I prefered the previous free way the aliens could adapt, but I guess we should play with it to see how it feels after some games.
lol damn you caught me. I thought I was clever, swapping to regen around the corner and back to cara.
Well that's a relief... except no one is going to take hypermutation in the first place. Hah.
