    DDoS? what?
I start the game today and saw 6 people on your server. I thought "hey, i can finally play on the miracle server"
    So i join.
I told you twice, that i m sure your 3,3 ghz server cant handle the game, but your only answer was "hey, im hosting server since hl1 and i have the clue whats goin on"
So i decide to fill your server and ask some ppl in my friendslist.
After some minutes your server fill with more and more people.

Btw, you told me in the game that there where never more than 10 people on your server before.
Really strange, cause here you say "My 2,6 ghz server has no problems with 18 slots and it was full @ 2 days"

    anyway
The 12th player joint, the tickrate start to drop. I saw first drops to 21. The 13th player joint, the server starting to lag. In that moment the 14th player joint, your server die.
Maybe your upload speed @ home isnt high enough to host an server, who knows.

Please release your firewall logs here, never read a nonsense like that before. DDoS . LOL

I'm not releasing logs on a public forum.

The server was just fine under the stress, it had nothing to do with server load. The tick rate did NOT drop, it spiked down for a few seconds and came back up to a steady 30. And shortly after that, the DDoS happened. All your doing is trying to discredit me. What I will release is the server performance records.

    <img src="http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c398/Warboy/ServerDuringDDOS.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

If it was the server's fault, then the 999 ping for everyone wouldn't have happen, it would have increased, not just spike to 999. Your comments in the server chat were uncalled for as well.

PS. It isn't a home connection, I have a charter dedicated fiber optic line to our business location. If you PM me and stop acting the way you are. Then we can discuss this in private.

Indeed. Please take this to PMs if you would like to continue discussing it. Personal attacks/accusations are not tolerated here on the NS forums. Warboy, dePARA, consider this your warning.

Well, this is my last post in this thread.
Why, really why should i do this?
    Facts are:
I dont know you, you have an server nearly noone is playing on.

If you think your server is running the game fine, then its fine.
The only problem i had was the fact, that multiple serveradmins from multiple popular servers each witch experience in NS2 serverhosting for more than 1 year told you "You need an strong cpu", but your only answer was like "blablabla, leave me alone. I know it better"

So, have fun with your server and beware of the alien-cia conspiracy. They watching you.

That's a big accusation. Either stop making such or show the proof. As long as you're not showing any "private" logs (as if there was something private in filtered wireshark dump) you should stay quiet, mr. Expert in server hosting.

I've had countless "I know better" admins in my mod. They all acted the same way.

    Thats not true.

I'm not quite sure what exactly is causing this, but there can be situations where the tickrate drops for a very short period - and one symptom is that all players will get a 999 ping. In fact its not 999, but the scoreboard shows 999'er pings and they will recover immediatly afterwards. This has been a problem since the release of the server files in the alpha.

I also often get this locally for my client, when i get killed and the engine recovers to the spectate-respawn state (scoreboard showing 999 as ping and recovering as soon as the client catches up).

it was like that for 10 mins, people started raging quitting. Chat was delayed. The network the server was on became unresponsive, I couldn't remote into the server. I had to physically goto the server, I tried opening a web site on the server and it didn't load. etc.

Im going to have mods close this topic since falc, to be honest it seems at this point you're the only one making it a discussion. PM me about it.
