<div class="IPBDescription">A great experience that needs to be shared</div>So here is a little story...

I pre-ordered NS2 years ago when it was actually scheduled to be released in Fall of 2009, or at least that was my understanding. After a few months of waiting around, it was clear NS2 would be in beta for a while and Fall of 2009 wasn't going to happen. I was pretty upset about this and felt like I needed to do something about it. I sent off an e-mail for a refund and no questions asked I got it....quickly.

Flash forward to now, game is coming out next month, and noticed that my copy of NS2 is still in my steam games list. So I shoot an e-mail to Charlie and billing support.

Here is what happened:

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Hey there,

So this might get a little complicated….

I pre-ordered NS2 a few years back when it was scheduled to release in fall of 2009, I was ecstatic about it, was a huge fan of the original NS. The release date was broken, and naturally I felt pretty disappointed by this news and I wanted a refund back, which I did receive. The thing is even though I received my funds back through paypal, I still have the game showing on my steam list years later. So because I want to be honest person, and give the devs the money they deserve. I want to make sure I pay what is owed if I am actually going to play in the future. So… how do we go about this now? Do I send the funds through paypal again? Re-purchase? Do I keep the copy I have, get another copy? So many questions! Hope this isn’t too confusing. Let me know, thanks.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Heh yeah. I think we should just be generous and let them keep the copy they got a refund on and get the new free copy as well.

If they are feeling guilty, we can tell them to spread the word about NS2 or gift a copy for someone!

<b>E-mail from me:</b>

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->This has to be the fastest support I've ever received in my life, thanks guys, that was fast.... really fast!

So does this mean the key I have tied to my steam account now is actually still playable? It looks like I'm able to download the beta files and play (I'll check tonight). If that is the case, I can just send you guys some funds through paypal as a "donation", and keep the current copy.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<b>Reply from Charlie</b>

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Yep - your copy on Steam is still playable and complete. Enjoy.

So I believe thanks are in order, this really does speak volumes about what kind of company UWE is and what kind of a guy Charlie is. Seriously, thank you. People need to know how awesome you guys are. I will promote the hell out of NS2, and will be buying a few copies for a couple of friends of mine.

You. Guys. Rock.

    Yea that's the bad conscience you should get when you cancel a preorder, have some faith in the poor game devs when they're running just a few years late if they are still working on it =). I preordered myself long ago for two reasons:
    * I had had so much fun with NS1 for free that I felt whatever came out of the NS2 project I'd already received my value.
    * Previously I had suggested to Flayra to crowd-fund NS2. Only back then there was no such thing, but I'd already promised the funds.
    Good thing you're spreading the word now, anyway.
