Steam V.S. Preorder

Okay, I dont quite understand something and was just wondering if someone could clear this up. If we preordered this game for $35 we get immediate access to the beta and a free upgrade to the deluxe edition and stuff, but if we preorder the game for $25 we get the same stuff? isn't that a bit silly? I just dont understand why this pricing makes sense to anyone. Halp!

The non-steam preorders are now closed. Your only option NOW is to preorder on steam, for $25, or go back in time a week and get a pre-steam preorder, which would get you a deluxe copy of the game and a standard edition to give away.

But I'm guessing you don't have a time machine.

Steam orders DO NOT get access to the Beta.

Plus, I don't know about you, but I've clocked over 1000hours of NS2. So the extra couple of quid I paid to have this much fun is worth it. Oh, and I paid $39.99 for Black Armour Edition.

No where on the Steam page do we mention getting beta access, or a free copy of the game. The bonus for ordering the game now on Steam for $25 is a free upgrade to the $35 deluxe edition.

I really want the black armor but I don't deserve it. The people who supported this game early on when it was in it's infancy and UWE needed the money should have it...not us. Let it be...it would be undeserved even with trading. It's supposed to mean something

Hey Hugh,
I got a question for you!
About the art book, wallpapers, avatars and soundtrack, will they be hard copies or digital?
When can we expect to see these awesome pieces of merchandise?

Dang, I wish I got the black armor when I could have.
Duke Nukem Forever left me scarred with the idea that NS2 could be vaporware.
Bleh, I should have bought it simply for all the countless hours NS1 provided me in my childhood.

Deluxe Edition

NS2 Official Soundtrack (almost 1 hour of music)
Digital Art Book (40 pages)
Exclusive wallpapers and avatars
Exclusive new in-game marine armor

I'm guessing it'll be digital, and that you can expect them when the game is released. :p Also, Steam doesn't mail out hard copies of anything, do they?

It's a "Digital Deluxe Edition" So I am pretty sure that they will not be hard copies, that and the free upgrade would cost them tons to send out hard-copies to all those people for the low price of 25$

Still I am really looking forward to them, especially the soundtrack.

THEN MY NEXT QUESTION IS....

I know the free merch isn't available now but when it is....
HOW TO REDEEM?!?!

heh I know what you mean, I missed the digital part at first myself.

I am also curious on how to redeem, especially my gift copy of standard ns2, I assume it will pop up in our steam inventory or the email/account we used to pre-purchase through the site?

Except, of course, the first reply to the thread.
