Natural Selection 2 on steam

<div class="IPBDescription">No access to beta</div>My friend bought a key on steam and is trying to install the game to access the beta but is unable to download the game at all. Does anyone know why this is? is this a steam error or an NS2 error?

Also when are the extra copies of NS2 made available with the extras?

If you read the steam page carefully - does it say you get beta access anywhere?

Steam pre-purchase does not give you access to the beta. POOL'S CLOSED, so to say.

The beta is now closed and is only accessible to those currently in it.

I also get it though. Gotta give the release some impact, and updating the beta with a patch 1.0 is not the same as playing 1.0 the day it releases all fresh like

So can you still get access to the beta via the website?
If you go on natural selection 2 website, it tells you you get access to the beta still.
