Hi,
are there ANY plans to integrate somekinda matchmaking-system for competitive 6on6 matches?
IMO having such a system where you can queue to play 6on6 would be great, cuz atm most of the times it´s very .... chaotic. Letting people chose if they wanna play commander BEFORE they join the queue would be very beneficial, since this would increase the chance of getting a ...."good" commander.

I was coming to these forums to actually post another idea but it's similar to yours.
I just got done playing Tribes Ascend and they have a scrolling message in their interface where they update their players on various events, etc. One thing I saw was "try a pug today! Go to <a href="http://playapug.com/" target="_blank">http://playapug.com/</a>"
I went and it's a website with instructions on how to enter the Tribes pug scene. I then thought how great it would be to have something similar to this in NS2. What if server admins could check a box that they want their server to be a 'pug server.' Then, a player could click the 'find a pug' button, enter some kind of chat room, group with others, and have the system automatically create the pug/connect the players into the server.
6 years ago COD2's community had something similar. You joined an IRC channel, used IRC commands like "/add player sentrysteve" and a bot in the chat channel would then spit out the teams and server info once enough players /add'ed themselves. It worked great and was a lot of fun. Imagine something like that but with official support right from the main menu.

It's a work in progress. Better support for this kind of play will be there.
As for a matchmaking system, it's been discussed before. I think the general consensus was that it's a good idea in itself, but doesn't fit with NS2. The way servers work (dedicated, privately hosted) and the playerbase (too small), are in the way of such a thing.
