Ehhh, so maybe it's a little late
The Readyroom will be running a nice mapper feautre of new and exclusive shots starting tonight. It was supposed to start Sunday night, but I was having some weird intermittent FTP issues.

So - mappers, we haven't forgotten about you. Fans, check back tonight after 7PM (US Eastern).

Also, PHL got those new model shots in - be sure to check 'em out on the main page. One quick correction - the Alien Resource Harvester is 100% Cory model and texture, not Beaner as I incorrectly told them. Sorry Squeal - 100 lashes with a wet copy of 3D Studio Max.

I'll mention it here again MonsE. But i'm still missing from the Map Screenshots page on RR. I'm starting to take this oversight personnally.

Well, now that everyone thinks I'm a jerk rather than merely busy and non-omnipotent... Please try to remember that I have no obligation to add anyone's shots - I do what I can, when I can, if I remember. It's never personal. I would however suggest PMing me next time; a bit more professional.

I will be sure to add your shots during this update. Perhaps you can send me a few that you would especially like to have posted, considering how much time has elapsed. Whatever I have is probably way out of date...

It's alright MonsE, most of us understand. I probably brought up the issue when I shouldn't have in mIRC, but I wasn't complaining, just making an observation.

What ...update? *pulls nose out of work*. Ohh, not bad...could be better but I cant complain *waves hands with no care in the world* . Time to dig back into C++, Avatars and The Hive, man I thought spring break I could relax on...and my friend from the USA is coming up on Thursday, must finish before then! Maybe some more pictures would...motivate me? *cough*

Too busy? Try doing less. Maybe RR should only do shots from Offical maps. IMHO NS World handles map shots so better than Readyroom, you could leave the un-offical maps to me.

    Just trying to help

My recent shots mainly have 'too many entities in visible packet list' errors in them . Doesn't make pleasant viewing

we all know you're a busy man monsE, Chrome is right tho, BTW chrome it wouldbe nice if you put the url to ns world in your signature, or monsE should put ns world with the linkspage? or Comprox if monsE is too busy

Alien Resource Gatherer = balloon rat (in a cute, loving way). 'Nuff said about that.

Cool shots, and I really didn't care that the update was 'late' -- we NSers are all spoiled brats, what with all the screenshots and model shots you're feeding us.

And I dont have any shots up in the mapping section either Oh wait, maybe thats because I haven't given MonsE any shots to put up (j/k monse, dont freak out! )

First: The shots are simply great. Especially Merkabas resource noozle makes me (and my map) feel damn ugly.
BTW, don't believe in those 'FTP issues'. MonsE has simply learned his PR lessons and knows how to push RR.orgs counter by suspense

For the suggestion that all non-official maps should be shown at NSworld: Sorry, Chrome, but I simply don't think that's a good idea.
RR.org has become the 'main' NaturalSelection resource for a reason, splitting its content up into different pages would only be adivseable if Mons is near his third heart attack if you know what I mean.
Plus, how do you define 'official map'? Maps that are made by guys in 'Group: Developers'??
At this point, every map may theoretically become official, so it'd be hell to sort it out.

Agreed -- as beautiful as Bast and Hera are, they're hardly the only NS maps out there and frankly I'd get a little bored just seeing screenshots of those two maps. We have so many excellent community maps in production that we just can't possibly ignore.

There is a link to NS World right on the front page of rr.org.

I doubt reserving the readyroom.org for official maps only would do it much good. Not to mention that MonsE does a wonderful job of promoting the lesser known mappers. Readyroom.org is the "Official Fan Site" of Natural Selection. At least I think that's the wording...

Perhaps some people should offer to donate time doing HTML for the Maps section at RR.org, if some of the newer mappers have been asking to get their shots posted.

T'would help out Comp and MonsE, too.

I would love to help out at rr.org in my free time away from mapping. Would be time better spent then idly sitting at the forums waiting for new posts...

Then again, I really should be crankin on ssn during those times... heh...

In all seriousness, If MonsE needs help at rr.org (I'm not so sure he does, actually...), I would be more then happy to lend a hand occasionally. I doubt it would affect progress on my mapping, as I usually take several breaks during the process anyways. (I need to, or I'd break.)

Thanks for the idea Interfector. I usually have signitures turned off, so it hadn't occured to me.

I'm not suggesting that RR shouldn't run news about new maps/mappers, just that maintaining 2 databases of maps in parrallel seems a bit of a waste. Especially if it's taking MonsE away from his many other important duties.
