But.It.Isnt.Free. YOu people don't get it, energy has it's own pool, your acting like we had infinate loads of it, no, we did not. 200 energy that took up to 8 minutes to get back, so you can only beacon honestly once every 8 mins. if you wanted more, you had to spend more money on more observatories, why is it good for ns1, but not good for ns2?! If you don't want to have any depth fine by me, but dont go shouting 'its free it's free' with no argument to back it up.
So 2beacons or 5scans cost the same or more than a single observatory.
With energy, once you have 2-3 obs you barely have to manage anything and the only way to change that is aliens destroying the observatorys.
Now look at the tres costs again... Every action against the marine economy also affects the use of those abilitys(also every use of these abilitys affects the marine economy), tho it is still a great idea to destroy the buildings that give access to this tech. There is no point where those abilitys become "free", with energy the can be free for most of the time - or at least as long as you dont suddenly need to use those abilitys a lot more and faster than they can regenerate. (tho usually you can know when such situations might happen and prepare in advance)
While with energy there might have been situations where you couldnt use it were it is possible for marines now - marines lose a good amount of important res they might have needed to use for something else. (now they have to wait until extractors give them those resources again)
