One problems aliens have is that they have to close the distance to a marine. How about Onos can gobble their own teammate and sling em at marines or they can eat marines and sling them to aliens.

Onos could eat marines in NS1, in NS2 they aren't as useful when compared to the Exo.

Re barf idea.... nah. Use your charging ability to be the gap closer.

Onos are meant for 3 roles. 1) Soak damage. 2) Destroy Structures. 3) Use Stomp to disrupt groups.
