With permission from Tom Schillinger (aka. SushiFX) via email, it is my privilege to re-upload the Spec Ops V.2 Pack (lost after NSArmslab.com was shutdown years ago) that SushiFX managed to find in his backups.

They do not include the Spec Ops V2 player models due to them including textures from various sources (hacked player models.) Essentially, they were swat-styled characters. You can barely catch a glimpse of what they look like on Google Images.

So permission would have to be granted from the other sources (which doesn't seem to be happening any time soon).

Therefore, this pack includes the marine structures (Infantry Portal, Phase Gate, Turret Factory, Resource Nozzle) and Build sprites.

The Spec Ops Marine weapons are not included unfortunately. To give you an idea of what they were like, they were basically modern-era weapons, like an MP5.

Screenshots are included in the package.

I was looking for this pack for the LONGEST time, scouring old-archives of NSArmslab via archive.org for the files but to no avail.

I'd like to thank Tom (SushiFX) for allowing me access to these files for re-uploading.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Extract to "half-life\ns" folder

Also extract the autoexec.cfg to NS folder.

It includes the command: gl_max_size "512" to give a slightly higher quality to the textures in-game.

Overwrite if/when prompted.

Make backups just in case servers you join enforce consistency. So far, none of the servers I've joined and what's left kick you for consistency on these files.

Original screenshots with polycount included from SushiFX.

Readme that SushiFX included is a bit outdated (Mentions NSArmslab website, which is dead. Email is not the same for SushiFX.)

    Now if only we could get the one that turned skulks into the star-ship troopers arachnids ;P

    Oh man this pack.... I remember just how badass it was, id love to have these marines in NS2 again, I combined it with the AvP aliens pack for the aliens, it was like Spec op wars, Black Aliens vs Black spec ops..... man I just remember how badass the NS arms lab was for those custom skins..... when was it shutdown? just thinking about that makes me feel like im old
