Marine vs Marine!? Alien vs Alien?

Has anyone thought of a mod to do this? It would seem simple to make a server that allows marine on both sides?
That would be a whole lot of fun with the coms on both sides and firepower on both sides.


Hell even Aliens vs Aliens? I think fun mods like these would really add a niche into NS2 for us weirdos.

    I would like more a third race, like cyborgs but with a very big diffrent gameplay :P

    And how on earth would aliens be distinguished between one another? :p Perhaps green aliens vs orange aliens... Fun idea though, just for kicks.

    a major problem of A vs A would be the infestation imo. you'd have to do some coding there to prevent the commanders from placing structures next to the opponents hive. and using two kinds of infestations (maybe with a different color) brings up another issue: what happens if they "collide" by spreading into each other?

    still, would be an interesting and probably fun experience for a change.

    well in sc2 zVz you get all the positive buffs from your enemies creep except for the los ofcourse. So i think it could work even though the gameplay might get a little strange.

    When I was doing the fade mod we played a bit fade vs. fade, and it was super fun. 3rd race would be super cool, mirror match-ups tends to be a bit boring.

    There was an MvM mod for NS1 back in the day. It was kind of cool once in a while. Got boring quick though. There's not enough diversity to really make it work everyone just picks the same buffs. This was co by the way, never seen it in ns. But when co does come out hopefully xmenu will follow and then in sure MvM will too. But like I said its more of a novelty.

    I remember MvM having lots of grenade spam. AvA had some issues as well. Fun for the novelty of it.

    Mostly GL and HMG were king, as were HA.

    For AvA it was... messy.

    Though, games really just turned into shotgun spam (which is highly effective against other marines). McGlaspie got around the 'can't tell friend from foe' problem by having targets pop up on all enemy marines (think marine hive sight, except only when you have LOS). Its a fun gamemode when you get tired of NS2:Classic.

    These would be awsome mods. I can imagin alien vs alien gameplay on an alien looking world or alien cave systems and each team have diffrent visuals. Like one team has more of a red looking infestation or something and haversters are places on volcanic vents pumping steam to the surface. Would be awsome to have these mods
