Additional Lerk options

<div class="IPBDescription">Picking up /dropping marine weapons.</div>One of my favourite NS1 mods was the ability for lerks to pick up and transport gorges, and while I still think that would be cool in NS2, I do feel that lerks lack the unique utility they gave in NS1.

If lerks could swoop down and pick up / drop marine weapons, such as grenade launcher/flamethrowers etc, I think it would add a whole new dynamic to lerk gameplay and usefulness.

Just for clarification, these are dropped weapons, not weapons being held.

    Not a bad idea. Lerks are already described as support, and this would further cement that role. Though, I cringe at the thought of flying space pigs being able to set up anywhere on the map, at their leisure.

    Still, not a bad idea. Since I've started playing the game, I actually assumed something like destroying marine weapons to be incorporated....it only made sense for the Aliens to deny them their tools+it fits with their destructive nature and gameplay. Giving Lerk an ability to secure a marine weapon, before any marines are able to pick it back up, is just as good.

    i like this idea, but i think there should be some disadvantage to this. Maybe reduce movement speed when he carries a weapon, or impair movement for a very short duration.

    Unfortunately i don't think this will be something they'd add soon.

    Maybe there's someone who could mod this.

    Yeah, seems fair. Good Lerks can be difficult to kill as is, so being able to pick up a marine weapon wouldn't be too hard for a skilled Lerk player. Having the weapon slow them down is good way of encouraging risk/reward gameplay. Sure, you can deny marines that expensive GL...but you'll be putting yourself in danger in the process. Nice choice.
