Is the in game map getting a update?

I find the map really lacking. The color scheme makes it hard to find your location (yellow arrow on yellow map, at least as aliens) and it just feels cluttered. After playing some more I am slowly getting used to it, but it feels like it could be much better. Also, I'd like the option to zoom out the "mini map" that you get when you don't have the big one opened up. Couldn't find a way to do this.

sounds like a job for the modding section! im not sure how hard it would be to alter the map to a different color scheme, but minimap zooming does sound like it would be simple enough, as long as you can find someone who knows what they're doing in Lua
