Tell us about them!
Name something awesome that you saw in an NS2 game that your team, another player, or yourself did! I like reading about other peoples funny / awesome experiences in games like dayz and etc. This game has so much opportunity for awesome things to happen as well :)
Screenshots are very welcome, as well as videos, or a simple story works as well :D

Our com was a new player (forgot his name) and he was doin a really good job and the teams where mixed on both sides (veteran- + new players).
At the beginning the marines overrrun the aliens and it looks like an pure domination victory. But suddenly the aliens had 2 hives and game changed.
Marines losing more and more.
Close to gameend, Treffnix join the marineteam and with his help we had killed hive after another.
Then the epic moment:
Two hives left (over 60 min gameplay), marines @ both hives, sub 5% and flight control 8%.
Suddenly beacon (1 skulk chewing something in base)
The only thing i heard after that was a loud "NOOOOOOO, WTF, AHHHHH" from really every marine.
We held that for about 30 minutes, killed 4 onos back to back with hardly anyone dying, eventually lost when Gorges got bilebomb and people actually went gorge.

Everyone collected all the resources and then left the game... so each commander had res and was basically just playing against eachother. It was pretty cool to see so many AI units.
this is not a bug btw, the alien commander can spend his personal res to pre-evolve eggs into life-forms. other players can then hop in to become that lifeform for free (the com already paid) and i belive the next person to spawn will automagically hatch from that egg.
so anyway, awesome moments...
just a few days ago i managed to kill 4 out of 5 attacking skulks (a teammate killed the 5th), 3 of them with the axe (quite lucky there, we had rifles and no upgrades). i felt kinda sorry for some of the obviously new players, but it was still a nice moment for me. there were a lot more rewarding kill-situations, but i guess these kinds of "stories" are not quite entertaining for the reader.
i also loved a game where we were locked down as marines in refinery on mineshaft, fending off onos after onos. i recycled some stuff and got us jetpacks. we were slowly going down, but some lone marine managed to sneak into cave where i placed a pg (this is a classic, i know :D) and in the end, we managed to kill their 4 mature hives one by one (as well as some newly placed ones), eventually winning the game. the enemies were no newbies and they did not ragequit the game (i think it was something like 8v7 when the game ended) so i was really surprised that we actually managed to turn the tables in such a desperate situation.
but my favorite moment happened when i was fighting an onos in a minor outpost in computer lab, i was the last survivor. back in the days, the standard gore-attack was still knocking you backwards and prone (quite a death sentence as he can just keep knocking you down). when i flew away i really expected to be done for. but the onos knocked me through a phasegate and i survived! yea, i kinda miss the knockback... it was also so much fun knocking people into deadly pits :)
We went on to win the tournament, how ever we were lucky to get aliens twice we won fair and square!
The we started in data core and the aliens in sub access. We rushed their base twice, both times taking their only rt and removing all cysts. During this time the rest of the team built atrium and 3 rt's. We soon found out, as we moved from atrium, that the aliens had fast hived flight control. We held them off in crevice/summit for awhile denying them most of the map for a long time. Long enough for us to get most tech. You would think we marines had this game down, right? Well the aliens finally started pushing back. The aliens took out all but our two base rt's, datacore and atrium. We marines took 2 of their hives forgetting the harvesters. The aliens then rushed data core but we got back and saved it. This is the time where the match got really fun and the details got hazy. It became a game of really really hard pushes where one side or the other just steam rolled right through and took everything. The aliens took our atrium base. There was some trading of atrium and sub access as both teams rebuilt their comms/hives. The aliens kept taking our second bases and all our rt's and the we marines saving our base as. We marines kept taking all but one hive, and often their upgrades as we found them but never having time to take their rt's because they rushed our base. This went on for an hour of trading territory, and both teams almost winning. It was a long intense battle of massive alien res flow against the superior marine tech we acquired early game.
Marines won. End of story.
Was playing marines, and we were trying to get a second base up and come back. We were constantly being harrased by aliens.
1 lucky shot turned the game around.
1 shotgun shell kills 2 fades.
made me feel like O_O
Was commanding marines on summit, started in flight control, and went for a straight relocate to crossroads, without a single problem.
Within 3 minutes, we have capped all but 2 rts, had the armoury uppgrading, when i asked my team what piss take tatic we should use as we seem to be winning so hard.
I suggested a flame thrower / jetpack rush, but my team was up for more than that, adhd wanted the jetpack / welder rush, suddenly marines had one mission, to weld down data core hive :D
I didnt even dare buy then shotguns in case someone cheated and shot the hive down, jetpacks and level 2 weps up, i beacon rushed, and my brave marines rushed into the hive, even with a whole team being medpacked and nano used as much as possible, the aliens eventually fought us off, with little damage to the hive.
I almost gave up. I started flame throwers researching, before deciding screw it, i wasnt gonna let the aliens have this one, that hive would be welded down one way or another. Two turret factorys, mac speed upgrade, and started building macs.
After a while marines had just rushed the hive and destroyed enough aliens to shorten their egg supplies, aliens were trying hard, they had killed all but 4 res nodes, and had destroyed 1 of our 3 command chairs, my team were chasing them down, but i decided it was time, and beaconed the entire team.
It was go time, i waypointed every mac and marine to attack the hive, the 50 mac army started to move out, in a chain so long it reached from pipe junction to crossroads. The macs hoverd to the back of the hive, and moved in tight circles welding for dear life, marines flew around the hive, welders at the ready, i hear my team shouting "ITS WORKING!!!!!!"
The team continued their brave work repairing the hive, and popped the hive down with welders as a million angry skulks exploded into crossroads and ate our mines!!!
Laughed to hard i cried. lol
That was my most satisfying kill in ns2.
I was a bit surprised that there were no marines so I tried to think fast: "How can I do the most damage. Can't get it, can't get it..." The phase gate was the nearest building so I started omnomnomming on it, while thinking further. I couldn't come to a conclusion... Should I go for the power? The CC? The Obs? Nevermind! The phase gate was down to 50% so I had to finish it.
Right after I got it down, the com leaves the CC but I was fast enough to get him down either. While I chewed on the CC he respawned. He tried to shoot me, but than he ran to the CC to hide in there. Luckily I could get him down again. I was laughing. Why would he try to hide in the CC? Is he so afraid of one lonely skulk? As he respawned again, he headed directly into the CC without shooting at me. I lolled again and could get him dead while we both were inside the CC. (He was dead barely before the CC was completely closed, so I survived.) As he respawned the third time, he finally made it into the CC alive.
The moment the CC closed i heard the siren of the beacon and I suddenly realized why that all was happening. I could have just ended this game if I had killed him another time and finished the CC. All the marines were at an outpost miles away and couldn't get back without the phase gate. But instead of being angry at myself I couldn't stop laughing over the picture of that commander that jumps in panic to the CC in order to hit that beacon-button. I imagined the panic in the marine voice chat that I must have caused and laughed and laughed...
There is literally nothing better
For (maybe) a less-common experience, I once pegged a lerk in flight with a grenade and killed it.
