Spawning Locations - Player Control and Reward

Commanding aliens in a game today I decided to use forward shifts and hatch eggs in aggressive locations to motivate some coordinated pressure on neighbouring marine controlled areas.
One of the issues with the tactic was understanding how egg spawns are prioritised and chosen, I couldn't force players to spawn out of those eggs, and neither can the players choose the appropriate or favoured egg for the situation. Remedy suggested an ability that increases the chance of getting spawns in the eggs I have grown. More people would spawn where I want them, great! Although maybe another clued up player would be better solo elsewhere.
In B215, if a hive is taking damage, aliens are likely to spawn in the surround eggs. As a default spawn it's suitable and makes sense, especially in a public game.
But what about when a team assaults the room? Or graduated pushes with shift eggs?
In this situation I don't want to have my spawn picked automatically. I want to choose it, know where it is and pick when I want to emerge from it.
Here are some points I've thought up at 4AM.
Marines on Egg-watch Duty - Picking off newb fresh skulks who aren't prepared for where they'll spawn. Even as a marine I find the system frustrating, I want to be rewarded for prediction as much as aim, as an alien I like to be rewarded for stealth as much as movement. By waiting in an egg I have picked for a better moment to counter.
Coordinated Counters - Maybe the alien team is willing to let the hive die to attack a potentially unprotected area, an organised decision like this shouldn't be penalised by such a mechanic.
Map Awareness and Teamwork - If I notice a lone skulk parasiting a team of marines on my map, I want to get closer to that skulk quicker and help get some more bites in their ankles. Likewise with structures, if I notice it - I want to get there quicker.
Playing with Friends - "Where did you spawn? Flight Control, you? I'm stuck in the ground in Data, how do I respawn?"
Unfortunately, this might be a needed frustration given the amount of mobility good players would get in a public setting. From a competitive background, I want to see as much randomness taken from the game as possible. From a game play standpoint, I want to play the game freely and have frustrations be my own.
I didn't get much experience with choosing when to spawn and where, maybe some of you did. Why was it removed?
Please discuss.

I thought this was possible a few builds ago, and it was great having more control over where the player spawns
Frankly I don't even know what key to press to change eggs because I've never had the time to even read the little spawning message that comes up telling you how to switch eggs before getting auto-hatched.
bring up a map on death with giant icons that you click on to select your spawn. To clear up spam, in an area with many IPs or Eggs, it will show up as one dot, and will choose a random unused egg/ip in that area to spawn on
Like a sneaky ######.
