Exclusive Pre-Order Content

<div class="IPBDescription">DLC and Appreciation Content</div>I was wondering if we get anything special and unique for purchasing a pre-order of the game during beta. I'm only asking because I know you could get some black armor and that's wicked awesome, I want it already!! I wanna look like a black operations operative! Maybe after release, we'll be able to customize our Marine look.

This needs to be said: I'm never a fan of exclusive pre-order content, I prefer everyone to get any kind of extra content and best if it's 100% free. Equality for everyone, no one is left behind :D Now Expansion content I don't mind paying for. For example Payday: The Heist's 1st DLC has a lot for 10 dollars and I know the difference between Capcom-like marketing schemes and good quality content worth paying for because the Payday Dev has been greatly updating the game including awesome freebies like masks and a new map... Coming in 5 days we'll have the Wolf Pack!!

The Black armor was a limited thing which is over now. Right now all you get is access the play the Beta before the Official version is released.

As far as i know, you get what you signed up with: Beta Access.

Black Armor was given to the players who preordered the game Pre Alpha in 2010. It has been a long hard road but the ones you see in Black Armor are the first "investors" in NS2.

I have yet to see any black armor myself. DLC wise, I would like a feature complete game first.

Best to look in the ready rooms, but the difference between the green and black armor is very subtle and you have to really look for it to notice.

I've got the black armor and to be honest I'd be pretty pissed if they just gave it out to everyone, considering I paid a premium price and only received a laggy, buggy, nearly unplayable alpha game... (Much better now lol)

Just so everyone knows: Black Armour won't be sold again. It was there as an incentive for all the early pre orders. If you order right now, the bonus is the ability to play and contribute to the beta.

Right click on NS2 in steam -> Properties -> DLC and it will say "Natural Selection 2 - Black Armor"

Right click on NS2 in your steam list, choose "View Downloadable Content" and look for this:

Steam Library, right click on Natural Selection 2 and select properties and have a look on the DLC tab. It should show you "Natural Selection 2 - Black Armor Retail" if you indeed have the NS2 Special Edition

Yes, it has been said by UWE that after 1.0 eventually we could see some more customization to the look of marines to make them unique. I am pretty sure that female marine is also in the works for after 1,0, as you can see from all the concept artwork of it on the website!

"a gorge with top hat, monocle, and evil mustache DLC" breaks immersion, sadly :). I don't mind after a year or allow us to enable or disable them so everyone is happy. I like my NS2 theme only for now ;)

Anyone remember the UT sounds in NS1? Those were a bit annoying, not enough to quit, but I'm curious, were they added to make the mod more competitive?

Not necessarily the first, they just paid extra earlier.

I really wanted to get black armor, but if I was being perfectly honest I wasn't sure the game would ever come out.

After you've been waiting so long, you kind of start to lose hope. =P

ohhhhh god noooooooo. Lol. I hate TF2 for their "Flare". Makes the game ridiculous and i hate the pay to win model.

I hope this doesnt happen. Only because i like to be distinguished as someone who has been around a long time. Maybe an alien equivalent for all beta testers would be a fair compromise. =)

Only thing I'd want. Couldn't care less about black marine armor as I rarely ever play marines and if I wanted to play with guns, I'd go play CS:S.
