Theres a bug where when you join a game directly from a friend or anything that uses the +connect parameter to have you join the game immediately. It will not load any of your settings until you press escape to load the main menu. Its not a huge bug, but can be pretty annoying if you use lower volume in game and it resets and its crazy loud.
