*slightly* bigger plz
I was just playing a few rounds as gorge trying to help secure new hives (since they are important again, yay!) i was using my clogs to build a wall so i could build/heal without getting shot. after trying a few configurations, i found the only really effective way to hide urself is with 2 clogs on top of each other (4 so u can be fully protected).

I was trying to run around behind my hydras and a whip to keep rines outta sub access, using a clog wall to hide behind, but they could just shoot me behind my clogs cause my back is so fat.

If the clogs were big enough to completely hide the gorge model behind them with one clog, vertically at least at medium-long range, they would be a lot more useful for building forward defenses to hide behind and heal.

That would be good, but it would become difficult for Gorges to jump over a Clog (which was one reason why they are as big as currently)

What I would personally prefer is the ability to scale Clog size. Similar to Commander placing Sentry and choosing its direction, perhaps the Gorge can click once to place the model, then move his mouse up to increase the Clog size (maybe cost more energy). That way the Clog can remain small enough to jump over by default, and give Gorges more coverage.

good point, hadn't thought about jumping over them. being able to customize the clogs ssize would be simply amazing, either by making them bigger overall, or able to be stretched when placed (could be a +use mode where ur mouse extends the clog in the specified direction.)

How about the longer you take to release the drop clog key, the larger the clog grows? So basically clog size is controlled by holding the fire button.

That's a pretty awesome idea! Now the alien team needs to just be able to move through them unhindered and it would be an amazing ability.

^ Agreed, that's a much more simple implementation. Kharaa teammates being able to noclip through them (nudged aside like Drifters & MACs if inside Clogs) would be so much better than them breaking down the wall.

I think you should be able to just make one super size clog (ofc free) to block an entire entrance, and you should also get a few more of them than now. Then you can drop like all of them in row in hallways on both sides of the hive. That way we can make sure rines will never be able to even get near the hive. Sounds like loads of fun.

Check out some other Clog design suggestions here.

Rantology had suggested that Clogs increase in size as you gained more hives - that way you gain more "power" as you go progress in the game. I like the idea of scaling the Clog as you place it, maybe more Hives would mean a larger possible scale?

I don't like the idea of taking more time to place the clogs with this mechanic -> Clogs already take too long to place, but in theory this could end up faster since one Clog would be doing the job of multiple. Another issue with this idea is that the same weak Clog is protecting a larger area - which ties into the other post of needing Clogs to mature with time, or to allow multiple Clogs to "share" health. Please do at least take the time to read the OP over there, there are several ideas to help Clogs.
