<div class="IPBDescription">completely random</div>just some random ideas I have had no clue if any of them fit the game but posting them anyway.
WEAPON ideas
all range rifle (needs better name)
this rear load rifle is the standard for picking off hostiles at med and long range it holds a 18 round mag and has 2 fire modes semiautomatic and burst fire, while this weapon is good at long and medium range it is near useless at close range. the all range rifle fires light penetrating rounds (ignore armor on all but Onos)
basic idea
18 round mag deals moderate damage at medium and long range
primary fire: fires weapon
secondary: swap between semiautomatic and burst fire
fire modes
semiautomatic: fires one round at a time per mouse click, in this mode deals more damage at longer range
burst fire: fires 3 shots per mouse click, in this mode deals more damage at medium range
arc rifle
this weapon must be built before using (dropped by commander then built), it is a 10 round high damage weapon that blocks use of all other weapons while holding (must run out of ammo or drop weapon to swap weapon). the arc rifle fires a beam of high damage energy at the target this weapon can 2 hit a Onos if used right.
basic idea
10 round heavy charge weapon
primary fire: fire one arc beam
secondary fire: recharge aka load the next round
use in game
this is a end game weapon that is meant mainly to stall Onos rushes of later games while it does do heavy damage to units it is useless against structure. this weapon is a support weapon and limits the users function in battle as it requires a charge after firing and is slow to fire.
(no idea where I was going with this one)
Kharaa ideas
reaper (biological weapon aka moving building)
the reaper is the Kharaas answer to the arc it is a slow moving four legged animal that is controllable by the commander only unlike the arc it can not fire through walls but it instead fires multiple homing projectiles at the buildings these projectiles can be destroyed buy turrets (unlikely but can happen) so turrets will prioritize them over players, this allows slulks and other life forms to take out the turrets with out getting shot at. the reaper can also be deployed in a defensive state in this state if will have 4 of its projectiles swarming around it at all times any hostile that gets in its range will be attacked by the projectiles
reaper projectile
this wasp like insect is produced by reapers as its main offensive and defensive weapon the reaper wasps have a unique ability to detonate there bodies on impact with well anything. they will go after anything that gives off heat the hotter it is the more likely they are to attack it. (a frontiersman firing a rifle is more of a target than one not firing their weapon.. is that possible?) reaper projectiles are deployed by reapers when attacking buildings or defending an area.
vines (infest the roofs)
vines are a cyst upgrade that allows them to toss a "root" or vine up to the roof where they are at, a gorge can climb the vine and place Hydras on the roof or surrounding walls this also allows infested areas to have a more natural look to them. vines can also grow between walls if a cyst is placed on a wall this makes for a good barricade but also stops allied movement in the area (well it will stop Onos but nothing else unless there's a lot of them)
acid balls (vine upgrade needs better name)
a simple upgrade for cysts with vines this allows balls of acid to grow on the roof in a small area around the vine any hostile soldier or robot that walks under the vine will get hit with these acid balls (like a coconut falling out of a tree), this is a random idea more or less as people never look up that and it might be overpowered in some places. note this upgrade can be used on vines that grow on walls.
